Enjoy....or Mangia!
We REALLY enjoy their foods, every item we have had has been excellent! Actually go there rather often, started because we like to go to "mom&pop" type places and Trecaso's did not disappoint. Simple, delicious, good price point and the Chefs/staff are kind and always pleasant. Going to Trecaso's, as a building, is like a time capsule diner of yesteryear, soda fountain style. Lovely, clean, lots to look at that changes up often. Nostalgia at it's best. After your tasty dinner, I hope you save room for some handmade ice cream...because there are a LOT of choices...or maybe a sundae, or malted, or a phosphate (I haven't had one of those to be truthful) . There are specialty candies too...like caramel pecans, or almond/walnut...all kinds of chocolaty (and other) delights!
Extremely inhospitable but I was jonesing for a milkshake. Their customer service makes me just want to go home and make it my damned self. They don't make you feel welcome at all. I don't go there anymore but I do miss those milkshakes.
Fabulous time eating there
All in all....if you want something tasty (they have several awards for their sauces) with good people, good atmosphere, good desserts and good conversations......take a few minutes and have a sit down at Tracaso's. I promise you that it will be an excellent meal. My favorite is the lasagne & my hubs likes the pizza. (Fabulous crust that pizza has!)
Truly amazing Ice cream with an old school 50's intimate feel to it. Now the food on the other hand is another thing. The taste is kind of bland compared to other Italian restaurants. The portions are WAY too small for the price but TBH the crowd is typically the elderly or young children that probably don't mind/notice.
We are ice cream hounds having gone to Pavs ice cream a lot , stricklands at akron air port, TAGGERTS ICE CREAM PALOR IN Canton, bought a lot of Eddy's at the stores in Akron, mostly vanilla. We had 2 hot choc sunday with standard 2 scoups of what Tree calls vanilla flavor. Its was not unfit to eat and its flavor tasked skim milk certainly no vanilla flavor , not even near what Giant Eagle ice cream vanilla tastes like and it ain't the best. I paid 13.87 . Upon paying the bill I told the waiterss cashier I wondered who they bought the ice cream from what company?. She says they make their own. I told her it has no vanilla taste and to tell tree to put more vanilla flavor. She was defensive saying its been the same for 80 years although tree has not owned it for 80 years and Mary Coyles was no where near the tasteless Tree vanilla he makes. We have seen the tiny portions of pasta he serves for 7.75 and 8.95 for so called large. The business is hanging by a shoe string and its shoe string management focused on cutting costs by cutting portions along with quality. The tasteless vanilla and the under sized and over priced pasta are examples of why people do not return. We are never going again although we get our prescriptions next door once a month and could have been a regular customers. We shall continue to go to Angel falls which has scads of customers and attractive service with good coffee and cakes.
