I was asked to provide a $50 deposit at check in. I was told over the phone that it would be $150. For what it’s worth, this hotel is not nice enough to require any deposit.
Good location, clean room, friendly service.
The room was clean upon check-in. However there was some visible mold in the shower stall, and the water from both the tub and sink faucet smelled of mold. The shower head also had visible crust on every water outlet giving the whole bathroom a grungy appearance. The tub was slow to drain and at the end of a short, five minute shower an inch plus of water was standing in the tub.
The beds are very, very firm and the blankets seem insufficient for Ohio. I’ve stayed at hotels in the warm areas of California where an actual blanket is provided, with an extra in the closet, not just a very thin quilt that feels to be about three sheets thick.
And for the worst part. I left my necklace on the bathroom sink, and when I called two hours after my 8:45am check-out, was told that housekeeping had just been to my room and did not find a necklace. I am 100% certain I left it there and told this to the woman on the phone at the front desk. She hung up on me. I called my family member, hysterical because this necklace was purchased for a baby we lost at 13 weeks gestation and despite being sterling silver with a simple teardrop gemstone (not a precious stone) it is priceless to me. I called back and politely threatened to contact management and suddenly my necklace was found. Don’t waste your $80-120 a night here. There are many hotels on this same road that are probably more clean and better managed!!
The stay wasn't bad but the staff was incredibly rude. When I called to add another night to my stay they Didn't ask how many would be staying. When it came down to it as we were walking in j was very rudely informed that I must pay extra so my three bridesmaids could stay with me. THEN after I paid the pull out couch was broken so they gave me one roll away. And one extra blanket. It was a joke. I hope beat western properly trains all their employees.
When my tub wouldn't drain properly, I was not given the option to transfer to a different room with a properly draining tub. Alisha, at the front desk cleaned the tub, but could not understand the issue of the dirty water backing up during a shower being an insanitary, health issue. I was told to wait until morning for housekeeping to try and fix the drain. Upon contacting the Best Western Corporate office for another solution to my problem, I was informed that the hotel was terminated as a Best Western branded hotel in 12/2011, and there was nothing they could do to help besides creating a care plan. Alisha, would not tansfer me into another room. The manager, Pooja, was then contacted, to see if a room transfer could be made and she declined to do so. Even after being showed two videos of the dirty water backing up 2 inches deep mid-shower, I was still declined amother room.
This was a very nice hotel, but not new. Nearby restaurants were a plus because you didn't have to go back out into heavy traffic--some were within walking distance. Check-in was efficient and we received an unsolicited room upgrade. Room was attractively decorated and clean. Everything worked perfectly. Breakfast was fine. Front desk folks, for the most part, were friendly. All were efficient.
